GB7HQ - Awards Programme
GB7HQ Awards Programme

Operating awards can be gained for contacting the RSGB Headquarters station GB7HQ during the IARU Contest 2008. There are four levels of award available: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum.

This award is available to any licensed radio amateur who makes contacts with GB7HQ during the IARU HF World Championship contest on
12-13 July 2008 on a minimum number of bands/modes (maximum is 12 :
i.e 6 on CW and 6 on SSB)

Bronze award: GB7HQ on three band/modes
Silver award: GB7HQ on six band/modes
Gold award: GB7HQ on nine band/modes
Platinum award: GB7HQ on all twelve band/modes

The GB7HQ Awards are free.

But just to help cover the cost of postage, we would encourage applicants to send £2, $3, Euro 3 or 5 IRCs.

Award applications must list all contacts with GB7HQ in date and time order, and should be sent to:

John Dunnington G3LZQ, PO Box 36, Gilberdyke, East Yorkshire HU15 2WX, England

E-mail applications to johndunnington@johndunnington.karoo.co.uk

Example: if a station contacts GB7HQ during the IARU HF World Championship on 80m CW, 80m SSB and 15m SSB, that is three band/mode combinations and the station will qualify for the Bronze award.

Attainment of the Platinum award requires contacts on all twelve possible band/mode combinations. Stations are encouraged to try to achieve this challenging target - i.e 12 QSOs with GB7HQ across 12 band/modes.
